Last Week
On Monday, we were so happy to see that many baby chicks had hatched over the weekend! (Scroll down to see your child holding a baby chick) We were also very lucky to see that one butterfly came out of its chrysalis! We reviewed the color blue, numbers three and four, beginning sounds, and rhyming words. We practiced writing our last names and practiced our graduation songs.
On Wednesday, we held our very fluffy baby chicks and used describing words to talk about our observations. We also enjoyed painting watercolor butterflies.
On Friday, we reviewed the color green and the numbers seven and eight. We made edible butterflies using pretzels, chocolate and M&M's. We also had to say goodbye to our baby chicks and our butterflies.
This Week
This week we will finish our review in our books. We will be talking about our fathers and why they are so special to us. We will be reading books about summer fun and going to Kindergarten! We will also be practicing our graduation songs all week!

June News
At this point of the year, we are now reviewing what we have learned. During the day, the students will be completing the last section of their green Early Skills Language Journals. In this section, each day they review numbers, color words, beginning sounds, and words that rhyme. Our homework journals are finished, so I will be sending home a review packet each week. The homework may appear overwhelming, but it really only serves as extra practice. If anyone has any concerns or questions, please feel free to call me or email me.
We are still discussing life cycles in Science( scroll down to see pictures of eggs and how much the caterpillars have changed).
During the week of June 11-15 we will be discussing our dads and how special they are to us. Our Doughnuts with Dad Party is on June 15th from 8:30-9:00. Dads please join us for a quick breakfast before you start your day!
We have begun to practice our songs for our Graduation Ceremony that is on June 18th at 7PM.
Our last day of school for the 4's class is Tuesday, June 19th 8:30-10:30.
