Last week we learned all about the letter Oo with Ollie the Octopus. On Monday, we read about octagons and made our own Octagon Octopus! Through the week we learned about opposites and played many fun games using opposite words. You can see in the pictures below, we played a game called Action. Each team was given a set of picture cards of an opposite combination and they had to find the appropriate props to act them out while their friends guessed. We had so much fun with this game! We also learned about the number 15! We learned how to write and spell the number fifteen and focused on how to use tally marks to display this number along with counting by 5's.
At the end of our week we all came to school wearing our pajamas to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We thank you all for your wonderful donations! We also celebrated our 100th day of school! We started our day with some simple 100 hunts and making the number 100 with 100 pennies. Once everyone arrived we followed the 100's all the way upstairs and found a room filled with 100 Day activities. We made silly hats with 100 dots, we worked together to finish a 100 piece puzzle, we all tried the 100 cup stack challenge, played our Hershey Kiss Number Match, and also played the Roll & Race to 100 game! We thank all the families for bringing in a special snack! The children loved counting by 10's all the way to 100 during snack!
