Letter A & Number 1

We started our amazing week by reading "Apple Annie" and learning our fun letter A song.  On Monday, we learned the sounds that the letter A makes, how to write the letter with Mr. Pencil, and we learned many letter A words. While outside, we played an alphabet ball game and during Afternoon Art we made our Apple Annie puppets.  On Tuesday, we explored the inside of an apple and discussed all the parts of an apple. Wednesday we focused on the number one  and learned how to make patterns using colorful apples.  We even made apple pattern wreaths!  On Thursday, we took another look inside of an apple after listening to the special story about the apple star.  All of the children were excited to see that when you turn an apple on it's side and cut it in half a special star appears! We then used these apple stars to make beautiful apple prints.  You can see these pictures in our class Art Gallery.   To finish our week we had a fun apple tasting!  After the tasting we made a graph to find out if our class prefers green apples or red apples and it was a tie!  We thank all the families who sent in an apple to help make Friday a really special and amazing day!   Please remember to scroll down to see some memorable moments from our week.

Next week, we will be learning about letter Bb with Benjamin Bunny and number two.
